What is the statutory basis for determining the competent court to hear an action for annulment of an arbitral award, especially if the original dispute was of a commercial nature?

Jurisdiction to hear an action for annulment of an arbitral award is vested in the competent court in accordance with Article (8) of the Arbitration Law. If the original dispute was of a commercial nature, then jurisdiction to hear the original action is vested in the Commercial Courts, and consequently in its competent Court of Appeal, pursuant to Article (16) of the Commercial Courts Law.
