What are the legal implications of a party's failure to attend court sessions after being duly notified?

A party's failure to attend sessions after being duly notified without an acceptable excuse is considered a presumption of the validity of the documents submitted by the other party and a waiver of their right to defense. In such a case, the litigation is considered to be in the presence of the parties (inter partes) in accordance with Article (30/1) of the Commercial Courts Law. Furthermore, the court may infer what it deems appropriate from such failure to attend or refusal to answer without a valid justification, based on the second paragraph of Article 21 of the Law of Evidence.
