The judicial authority relies in establishing reconciliation on the principles of Islamic Sharia, which permits reconciliation between Muslims provided it does not render lawful what is unlawful or render unlawful what is lawful, and on the statutory provisions that allow litigants to request the recording of their agreement in the case record and the issuance of a judgment to that effect, provided that the agreement does not contravene the provisions of Sharia or the law.
