What is the Sharia and statutory basis for judicial conciliation, and what are its effects?

Judicial conciliation is an agreement between the parties to a dispute to terminate the litigation, or part thereof. Its legitimacy is rooted in Islamic Sharia, which permits conciliation among Muslims. Furthermore, the Law stipulates that litigants may request the court to record their agreed conciliation and issue a judicial instrument to that effect. This conciliation shall then possess the force of an enforcement instrument.
